Most stand-up dummies wear out at the contact points first. The top and bottom take the worst of it, getting dragged, dropped, and driven into the turf rep after rep until the cover splits. Once that happens the dummy is done, usually mid-season.
The Standard Football Dummy is built around that wear problem. The flip-flop handle design means the dummy can be flipped end over end, so both ends carry double-layer 36 ounce vinyl and double tops and bottoms. When one end starts to show wear, you flip it and keep training. Composite construction holds the shape through repeated contact.
